Kellogg’s have paired with J. Walter Thompson, Sydney and Youtube illusionist Zach King in a bid to return cereal as the go-to breakfast for all Australians.

The campaign, entitled Amazing Creations, sees King create a morning meal from mundane items including an alarm clock, coffee cup, and office memo.

“Many Australians have grown up with cereal as their main breakfast choice, but with so many other breakfast options now available some consumers have forgotten how nutritious, delicious and creative cereal can be,” says Kellogg’s Australia marketing director, Tamara Howe.

J. Walter Thompson ECD Simon Langley added “Many cereal advertising campaigns focus on the food itself, rather than the experience of breakfast and the options cereal can provide. Amazing Creations is unexpected, visually arresting and different from anything Kellogg’s or the category has done previously”.

This isn’t the first time King’s talents have been applied to brand advertising. After two years of creating content on viral video network Vine – which are also hosted on his Youtube channel – King appeared in a series of three videos for Tic-Tacs.

He also has a guest vocal appearance in the new Disney animation Zootopia.

Kellogg’s campaign launched today, and will run until October.
