757 million people in the world cannot read a single sentence.
It’s a shocking figure, but not as shocking as the daily struggles the illiterate face in a world where reading and writing are some of the most basic requirements for survival.
The Alphabet of Illiteracy, a recent advertising campaign for Project Literacy, provides a sobering look at what these struggles include. It’s enough to make anyone’s stomach turn in torment, but there are ways you can help.
The campaign was created by FCB Inferno, and took the top prize in the Health & Wellness category at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on Saturday.
