Recreational space flights might still be a long way off, but that hasn’t stopped the team at NASA from preparing some marketing materials slightly ahead of schedule.
Recently, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab commissioned Seattle design studio Invisible Creature to produce a series of posters inspired by the retro sci-fi style. The posters can be downloaded for free at the NASA website, and will eventually be available as a calendar entitled Visions of the Future.
It’s a clever title when considering the grandfather of Invisible Creature’s co-founders, brothers Don and Ryan Clark, worked at the Ames Research Centre as an illustrator, working alongside NASA to imagine what the future would look like.
“We’ve come full circle, and that’s a really cool thing”, said Don in an interview with FastCoDesign.
Really cool.
You can download HD copies of the posters at the NASA website, or order a printed version via the Invisible Creature store.
It’s posts like this that make surfing so much pleasure
