The Art: pxl_rain
The Artist: Wandering Echo
The Work:
Glitch art is founded on the concept of error as an aesthetic. It’s a thrilling, innovative concept, one that often results in abstract, visually striking work. Yet the style often comes off as a nifty novelty designed to get the simplest of reactions, only to be forgotten moments later. Rare are the exceptions that use glitches to invoke or amplify the affect of the original image.
pxl_rain is one of those exceptions.
Wandering Echo’s process is relatively simple (he provides a brief explanation on his Facebook page), but the result is undoubtedly captivating, and raises questions, as all good art does.
